We are now in Melaque, Jalisco  Mexico, it is Dec. 2nd and we will be here for three months. These pictures are a continuation of our trip to Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido, Zihuatanejo, and Morelia , Mex. in Oct. The above picture is at Puerto Escocndido, it is a big time surfer town, The surf is always up and there are surfers that come from all over the world to surf there. The town is kid of remote and is not a huge town with high rises,, it is just a beach town with a lot of medium priced hotels. We found the prices for food and drinks to be very reasonable. It was hot at the time we visited in late Oct. There is a lot of fishing in the area with lots of charter boats that you can rent.

Big surf, notice the surfers swimming just beyond this wave, they are waiting for the rite wave.

Puerto Escondido has a beautiful beach, notice the hand sticking out of the rock. There are some creative people here.

On our way to Zihuatanejo, We had to spend the night in this small town. The road was closed due to some kind of student protest. We left the next morning with no problems. We had planned to spend the night in Acapulco.

We had lunch in this restaurant, of course we found a singing waiter. "WE LOVE MEXICO"

The view that greeted us in Zihuatanejo.

Lots of statues in Zihuatanejo.

This picture of Brooks and Mary was taken at a roadside restaurant just before we arrived in Zihuatanejo. It was high on a cliff overlooking the Pacific.

View from the restaurant. It was breathtaking. It was just a nice find, and the price of food and drinks was unbelievably  inexpensive.

Lots of bronse statues in Zihuatanejo.

This was on the main square in town.

A view of the landscape in Zihuatanejo. We would recommend this destination for a visit, it was very friendly and not too expensive. It is rite next to Xtapa but without the big high rises.

It was just a real nice place to be.

High in the mountains on our way from Zihuatanejo (temp 90) to this spot (temp 55) what a change in 2 hrs.

Sunday afternoon in Morelia, Mex. This was a student protest march. No violence, just a march.

Cathedral, downtown Morelia.

Sunday afternoon on the square in Morelia. It is a beautiful city. We will go back again.

Evening on the square in Morelia. This is our friend Mary clowning around with the clowns. They loved the gringa.

These clowns adopted Mary.

The Cathedral in downtown Morelia.
