We had a visitor slither on by our motor home. We were told it was a harmless bull snake. I don't care, I don't like snakes.
WE HEAD HOME TO MEXICO ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON, WE WILL BE HOME ON SAT. MORNING.

Creepy!

We went to a Mariachi concert at the McAllen high school. They have a Mariachi band program that is very popular and put on a concert once a year. It was great!

These are high school kids.

This group was from the University of  Texas Pan American, they were part of the concert.

We got three hours of show, all for five dollars.

Some of the girls in the University of Texas group, easy on the eyes.

This was the last group that entertained us. They are a professional mariachi band based out of McAllen Tx. The band has been together since 1996 and is comprised of school teachers, band leaders from colleges and high schools thought the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. One of the band members is the director of the McAllen high school mariachi program.
M
They were a real treat to see. This band has been Grammy nominated. They have played in a lot of high profile venues including dates in Las Vegas as well as Guadalajara.

When we saw them we understood why they were Grammy nominated.

Veterans Memorial at the campground where we stayed. They had a real nice program on Memorial day.

After the service at the campground we went to the American Legion in McAllen for a nice barbecue.

This is very near the International Bridge in Reynosa, Tamps. Mexico. We walked across the bridge and and then took a very short taxi ride to the bus station and bought our tickets for our return home to Mexico on June 1st. While in Reynosa we ate lunch at a very nice restaurant. It was a pleasant trip with no problems.

Inside the restaurant in Reynosa, a really nice place with reasonable prices.

An picture of a salad they served us.

Another night of dancing at the American Legion in McAllen Tx. We have been going there every Fri. evening. We'll go there again tonight.

We went with a group on a shopping trip to Progresso Mexico. Here we are having lunch at Angel's.

Belinda with Friend Sam getting a pedicure in Progresso.

View from 4th floor at Angel's in Progresso, looking at a side street.

May 23rd was our anniversary. Belinda took me to Roosevelt's Pub in McAllen. What a treat!! They must have had 30 or 40 beers on tap. We had a wonderful Ruben Sandwich and a few beers.

Enjoying a really nice wheat beer. It had just a hint of a smokey flavor. Next was an IPA then a Pilsner and time to go home.

A really cool place, with a bartender that knew his beers.

A huge selection ob bottle beers also.

A little going home get together at sister in law Sherry's house.

On a shopping trip to Progresso Mexico. It's only about a 1/2 Hour drive from Sherry's to Progresso

Lunch at Arturo's in Progresso, it is a favorite place.

Iwo Jima memorial just outside of the Harlingen airport.

One of the shops in Progresso Mexico

We went to the American Legion in McAllen Texas with some friends that we met at the campgrounds here in McAllen. They have a very nice Post with over 400 members. They served a very nice fish dinner and had a nice band playing.

Decorations and dance floor at the American Legion.

Country music, of course it's Texas

I talked with the Commander of the Post, he said that when they installed the shuffle board it has become very popular and brings in a lot of business.

We took a ride on Saturday afternoon to Port Mansfield. It is about 1 Hr. from where we were staying. It is a fishing town. We had lunch there. Every house has one of these piers in front of it. There must have been 100 of them.

This is at a County park. Fishing on the pier is free.

Sea Gulls, looking for a car to poop on.

Some fishermen just going out.

Doing our favorite thing, eating and drinking

We really had a great lunch, the place was kind of funky, but nice.

Every inch inside of the bar was covered with pictures or posters.

This wind generation farm is under construction, it looks like there will be hundreds of these things when they are done. It is near Port Mansfield. There were a lot of them laying out in the fields waiting to be put together.

Poor picture, but it is a crop duster spraying the sorgum field. They grow lots of corn, cotton, sorgum Etc. Most of the land here is irrigated with water from the Rio Grande river.

You see these things flying all over in  the Rio Grande valley.
