On Sat. evening we went to another school fund raiser. This was our entertainment.  They were very good.  They are  Father, Son, Daughter combo.

Singing with our friend Pracilla.

I think Pracilla was enjoying his music.

They added the crazy musicians.

Bocce ball tournament in the afternoon.

Complete with burger and beer stand.

I posted this with Pracilla's permission. She tripped on the rope. After she said she is OK we had a nice laugh, Pracilla laughed too.

We had a busy week, here Belinda took me out for drinks and  then dinner for my birthday. Here we are at a rooftop bar to watch the sunset then we  went to a nice restaurant in Barra De Navidad.

This is the sunset we saw from the rooftop bar

Here we are  at Fredi's restaurant for lunch with friends Glenn and Pracilla. Fredi makes the best shrimp cocktail in the world.

Yes! those are crabs in the bottom of a bucket with numbers on them.

The first one across the line that is drawn about 8 feet around the start line is the winner. We were able to select a crab and pay 10 pesos to bet on our crab. It was lots of fun, those little things can really travel.

This is a Mexican Navy boat that comes into the bay every once in a while.

This is a picture of the lagoon behind us.

Yesterday we took a ride from Melaque to La Huerta. It is a crooked mountain road with beautiful views. It is a good road but crooked. The trip is about 25 miles.

This is a view of La Huerta as you are coming out of the mountains from the south. It's a beautiful valley, lots of agriculture. The town is the Capitol of the Municipal of La Huerta.  (county seat)

The road from Melaque to Guadalajara thru La Huerta and Autlan is about 35 Mi. shorter than the toll road but takes 1 to 2 hours longer. The crooked ass road is like a dog chasing his tail.

This is the main church in La Huerta. There is an old church along side of this one.

This bell appears to be from the old falling down church.

The old church, as you can see one bell is still there, the one on the other side is missing.

Inside of the new church, nothing too fancy but nice.

Belinda standing in the town square. It was very nice and clean and colorful. You can see this town is proud of their community.

A statue of Fr. Hidalgo in the square.

This is a view of the square from the other side, we are in a restaurant having lunch when this picture was taken.

We sure do love Mexican food..

One of several spots where the road was damaged because of the rain from hurricane Jova.

We stopped at Bigotes in Melaque for happy hour on our way home, this is a rubber raft pulled by a motorboat. It is a popular tourist thing.

This boat just happened by, lots of these in the harbor in Barra De Navidad.

And this is how the day ended back at home.

Every day Belinda takes a walk with two friends from the campground. Today she took the camera with her. You never know what you might see in this town. The above picture is of a statue of Maria De Guadalupe. It seems that everyone tries to have a picture or statue of Maria De Guadalupe. Today is and experiment, I am loading more pictures than usual.

Belinda is a collector of ceramic roosters and hens. Now she is taking pictures of them. No room in the motor home for ceramic roosters.

These pictures are all in town.

Mom and her chicks. In a few month they will be fryers.

This is a butcher shop, they are making carnitas in the big pan.

Carnitas are fried in oil. I call it mystery meat. Some unidentifiable parts. I have tasted them, and really good but most likely not good for you. Very salty.

There is a lot of agriculture in the area, this is a town tractor.

You don't need no stinkin hood on your tractor.

Everyone needs a Maria de Guadalupe statue.

It's funny, there can be some beautiful things to see, and next door it looks like a dump.

Looks like skeletons.

These are city horses.

This is a view of the lagoon, there is a walkway along the lagoon. One would think lots of mosquito's but surprisingly very few. There are crocodiles in there though.

Yesterday was a slow day for us. We bicycled into downtown, visited with friends at Playa campground, had lunch and a few beers at a beach restaurant, bought some fresh strawberries, came home and sat on the beach an watched these guys.  A surfboard with a kite sail. Wow, did they move fast. This looks like a lot of work. We went out for a nice Valentines dinner in the evening.

They would jump over a huge wave and come several feet out of the water.

This is the beach in front of our campground, looking toward Melaque.

Headed out on a fishing trip, 7:30 AM yesterday. Turned out to be a great day of fishing.

The first keeper. They are Chula (Albacore) a very good eating fish, almost white meat. Fish is in the Tuna family.

These Chula are fighting machines, Not a big fish (6 to 15 lbs.) but boy can they fight. They were biting, here we have two on at the same time.

There were three of us in the boat, here is Bob pulling one in.

They just kept coming, this is Lin pulling one in.

I must have been working hard.

These things give you a workout.

A few in the box already

Beautiful scenery, we were fishing around the rocks, trolling Rapalas slow. Some know where the blister rock is, anyway we were 20 min. boat ride from Melaque. Trolling as close as we dare to the rocks. We heard reports that the Dorado and Tuna were very slow, and you have to go out 25 miles to catch them. We decided to stay close and see if we could get some other action. Got into these Chulas and when we were done we boated 14. One good sized Torro and several Barrila that we threw back. We gave the Torro to the boat Captain, (they are a very bloody fish) The meat on the Chula's is almost white.

On our way in, lots of pelicans in the Grand Bay

A heck of a day of fishing.  We got about 45 lbs. of nice fillets.

I am a happy camper.

Friend Lin and I.

We bought tickets from kids coming thru the campground to attend a dinner to raise funds for the local School. Had a nice rib dinner and a good show. Picture is not good because it was a rainy evening. All survived, just got a little wet.

They put on a really nice show for us.

Take a good look at this babe, the same person is below.

Yup! someone came over from the local transvestite show and volunteered to be part of the show to raise money for the school.

Heck of a show.
