WE HAVE BEEN BUSY

It has been hectic around here for the past two or three weeks. Veterans day, Big Welcome Back Snowbirds party at our community El  Parque, Red Cross golf tournament Etc. Etc.

The Red Cross Golf Tournament is one of the most important fund raisers. The ambulance and Red Cross clinic are not funded by the government of Chapala. Fund raisers like this and lots of volunteers provide the funding.
This is a tournament that we enter every year, pay lots money to enter and win a bottle of donated Tequila.
18 teams, We took 3rd place, and happy about that.
Every year El Parque holds a welcome back Snowbirds party. A nice arrachera steak, baked potato, corn on the cob and cheese cake dessert. We serve about 120 people. We have fun putting on the dinner. Oh, did I mention made from scratch Margaritas!

I have a feeling this song is YMCA

Some of our staff that works at El Parque helping with the party.

Our security is great, Jose, one of our security guards is on duty bartending today.

The entry to our clubhouse.

OUT FOR A WALK IN CHAPALA, JALISCO, MEXICO

Saturday we went for a walk on the Malecon in Chapala. The lake level is very high and it seems that the pelicans really like the high water. They are up very close to the pier and lighthouse. After taking the pictures we continued on to the American Legion Post for a delicious breakfast. It was a very nice walk and the weather is beautiful here now. Hopefully we have seen the last of the rain for a while.

In 16 days we will leave our cozy little campground here in San Antonio Talayacapan and head for the beach at La Manzanilla. There we will see a completely different pelican, we will take pictures of them when we arrive.
