Day trip with Kathleen and Juan Pablo to Tapalpa

On our way to Tapalpa, we passed by this guy taking his wares to market.

Tapalpa is high up in the mountains. This view is on our way up. Tapalpa altitude is over 7000 ft.

We were surprised at how much agriculture there was here.

Looking down at the town we just passed thru.

The main Catholic church in Tapalpa. The one on the Rt. is the old church. No telling how old it is  but it looked ancient.

This is the inside of the new church. Incredible brick work. The bovada ceilings were spictacular.

The main square in Tapalpa.

We found a spot to take a rest and have a beer. Just off the square. Nice place to people watch.

This is just off the lobby of an old hotel on the square. There were several Hotels.

The landscape and flowers were beautiful at this hotel.

Beautiful streets and very clean town.

The bell on top of the old church. Notice the crack.

On our way to the country club at Tapalpa.  These Burro's really work hard.

From the balcony of the Country Club hotel and restaurant.

This is a really nice place. Lots are sold around the Country Club. There are a lot of beautiful homes there. A great place for the folks from Guadalajara to get away and cool off at a higher elevation.

Clouds were moving in, but no rain for our trip.

End of the day, notice the little guy dragging a golf club. Can't start too soon. Also it had been raining hard that morning, notice the water in the sand trap, as if it was not difficult enough to get out.

Had to take a picture of this truck. I am absolutely sure that it came from the U.S. and it belonged at one time to
Overnite Express which is now UPS freight. They harvest a lot of logs here. Very refreshing to travel 1.5 hrs. and be in a pine forest.

We don't know what the name of these plants is, but they were very beautiful. Can anyone help with the name?

On our way out of the mountains. That is the salt flats between Guadalajara and Colima below.

Lots of clouds, no rain.

BELINDA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

On the bus headed to Birria Chololo for Belinda's birthday party. There were 13 of us, no driving, just fun.

Clark the navigator, Yes we did get home.

The cake says it all.

Lots of fun, just getting started

Birria Chololo always treats us nice. No menu needed, it is just goat meat.

Our friends Ed and Rasa, their first experience at Chololo.

Tom and Jenifer. Don't let Thom fool you, there was Tequila in that Squirt.

The cake arrived, she was a little choked up. Mariachis played Happy Birthday.

We had Mariachi's playing most of the afternoon.

Bernie and Ed must have been enjoying this.

Susanna having fun.

Teasing each other,  Martha does not drink. You are not fooling us Clark.

Even the goat was having fun.

These pictures were taken at the Jeannie Chaussee memorial service in Ajijic. There was a parade and fiesta in her honor.

This picture is on a billboard in front of a new restaurant in Ajijic. If you notice the people seated at the table are Juan Pablo and Kathleen and their friends from Florida.

More from the Jeannie Chaussee memorial.

This is Libby Townsend, Jeannie Chaussee's Daughter.
