HEADING OUT OF CANADA INTO MONTANA

Heading out of Canada, Cranbrook  is a nice town near the Montana border. Glacier NP here we come.

This is the Hungry Horse dam. It is on the Flathead River, near Glacier National Park. The dam was built for flood control as well as hydroelectric power. Construction started in 1948 and the dam was completed in 1953. There was a visitor center with all of the interesting history of the dam.

An Osprey nest next to the dam reservoir.

This is a beautiful lake held back by the dam. There is no private land on the lake, only Federal Forest campgrounds.

This is a free music concert that we attended in Kalispell Mt. Blues and Jazz music. We had a great time there.

The lead singer/guitarist was from Chicago, and played at places we are familiar with.

The Western Montana State Fair was going on, SO we had to attend. Hog Judging, boy was that exciting.

Draft horses.

Moving entertainment on the midway., They did have a beer garden.

This was cool, a traveling ATM.

The local American Legion had a booth set up at the fair.
