THE REDWOOD FOREST

Pictures do not do describe these giants. It was breathtaking to see the size of these trees.

It was an easy drive along about 8 miles of forest road. Around every corner there was a bigger tree.

It was quite dark and damp at the forest floor. There were several streams running nearby. 

This hollow spot had lots of bees flying in and out.

Seems like every few miles along the coast road there is another river running into the ocean. I guess that is why the Salmon fishing is so good here

Never get tired of looking at these giant trees.

THE RIDE FROM CARSON CITY TO CRESCENT CITY CA.

It was a beautiful drive over some rugged country. Lots of scenic highway that was very curvy and steep road.

Tunnels thru the mountains. This was hwy. 70 that followed the Feather River, the rail road was on one side of the river and the road on the other.

The highway passes thru Quincy CA.

The river has several power dams on it.

We spent the night in Redding CA. on the way to Redwood National Park.

This was a worthwhile drive, but the motor home worked hard.

A RIDE AROUND LAKE TAHOE

Lake Tahoe is beautiful, we took about a 5 hr. drive all the way around the lake.

The Truckee river runs out of Lake Tahoe and into downtown Reno.

Downtown Reno NV, it seemed very quiet there.

Belinda's sister drove up from the Los Angeles are to visit for three days. They had a good visit and we all had a good time. We stayed in the RV park at the Carson City West casino and Belinda's sister and husband stayed in the Casino hotel. It was very convenient.

Leaving Reno headed back to Carson City.

A TRIP TO VIRGINIA CITY,

This is a view of downtown Reno NV. taken along the steep winding road South of Reno leading up to Virginia City. We were looking for Hoss and Little Joe along the way.

Virginia city has a lot of history, and they have not modernized a lot of areas. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to walk on wooden sidewalks and visit the many shops with lots of antiques.

They have a shootout every afternoon on the street, this gal was happy to pose for a  picture.

Helping his owner make a living, and all he has to do is pose.

Old mines are everywhere, but there are several mines still operating.

THE RIDE FROM ELY NV. TO CARSON CITY NV.

The road from Ely NV. on Hwy. 50 is called the loneliest highway, and that is with good reason. The scenery is not much, there are 11 mountain passes to cross and it is basically 313 miles of nothing. The motor home performed beautifully, but it worked very hard that day. Eleven passes, that's a lot of steep climbs and steep downhill. We were happy when we checked into the RV park in Carson City.

This was very interesting, at the top of one of the passes was this broken down huge crane, they were replacing a blown engine at the top of the mountain.

What the heck, out in the middle of nowhere a bunch of shoes hanging from a tree????????

Here we are, glad to be in Carson City.
